Our volunteers work with women and people of marginalised genders from all different walks of life, and in various types of supporting roles.
We will give you training, mentoring and support to make sure your volunteering experience is the best it can be.

Work as a valued member of the team at our Northern Suburbs Children’s Centres locations. This volunteer role involves providing information and referrals to women and people of marginalised genders who visit the Gawler & District College B-12 Children's Centre or Parafield Gardens Children’s Centre in a number of ways such as being available in the reception area, working with groups and working with Children’s Centre staff to provide information.
We provide a comprehensive training program, mentored shifts and ongoing support. WIS is a supportive team to all of our valuable volunteers.

Family Court Support (Adelaide metro)
Family Court Support (Adelaide metro)
WIS Family Court Support volunteers attend court with women who don’t have friends or family to go with them. Many of the cases involve domestic violence and the court process can be daunting and difficult to navigate. WIS volunteers provide information about the court and its processes, sit with the woman before and during the hearing, and provide a listening ear.
We will provide you with a comprehensive training program, a minimum of 2 ‘Buddy’ shifts and a supportive work environment in a women-centred program.

Work as a valued member of the team in our Shopfront. This volunteer role involves providing information and referrals to women who call our phone line or visit our city location in person. There are also opportunities to volunteer at community events on WIS stalls and to provide talks about WIS to student groups.
We will provide you with a comprehensive training program, mentored shifts and a supportive work environment in a women-centred service.
