Join us at OAR lakeside for our quarterly 'Women in the West' networking event! To celebrate International Women's Day, this special edition will center around the 2025 priority theme for the United Nations, 'March Forward' for a gender equal future. The world cannot afford a step back. This year marks thirty years since the world committed to a bold vision for gender equality, the United Nations' Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. Join us in-person as we discuss empowerment for women and how we can turn promises into progress.

Guest Speakers

Sarah Gun, GOGO Foundation; GOGO Events
Sarah Gun is the founder of GOGO Events, a B Corp and Social Traders certified event management social enterprise, recognized for employing women facing complex barriers to employment. Sarah also founded GOGO Foundation, which delivers long-term social impact through its Inclusive Work Program, creating pathways to meaningful employment for women marginalized from the workforce.
In 2023, Sarah launched UP by GOGO, to address the complex psychosocial and environmental challenges of hoarding disorder by combining compassionate care, and the circular economy. She is a co-founder of Collab4Good, and Social Change Headquarters, a B Corp.

A tireless advocate for equality, Sarah has been instrumental in shaping the social enterprise landscape in South Australia. She was on the founding board of the South Australian Social Enterprise Council and contributed to the state's social enterprise strategy. Sarah’s leadership extends to serving on boards for the South Australian Working Women’s Centre and the Australian Centre for Child Protection.

Steph Malan, The Village Co
Steph Malan is a visionary leader, passionate advocate, and dedicated former midwife with over a decade of experience in women’s health and well-being. As the founder and CEO of The Village Co., Steph has spearheaded initiatives that empower women and provide vital support to vulnerable mothers and families across South Australia. Recognised as the EY Entrepreneur of the Year for Social Impact, she has built a legacy of care and community through innovative programs and heartfelt advocacy.
A midwife since 2007 and a single mum of two, Steph combines professional expertise with personal empathy, bringing a deep understanding of the challenges and joys of motherhood. Her unwavering dedication to uplifting women and families has positively impacted thousands of lives, making her a trusted leader and compassionate voice for social change. Through The Village Co., Steph continues to create a brighter, more connected future for those who need it most.
