2019 South Australian Women’s Honour Roll nomination form

Ministerial foreword

This year we celebrate the 125th anniversary of women’s suffrage in South Australia and acknowledge the efforts of the courageous women who worked behind the scenes and in the public eye to give women the right to vote and stand for Parliament.

This triumph enabled women to participate in public life by giving them a say at general elections and is a motivation for us all to work for a fairer, safer and more equal society.

Women from diverse backgrounds are at the heart of South Australian families and communities and in countless ways make an outstanding contribution to improving and advancing the lives of others.

The Women’s Honour Roll, established in 2008, ensures that we acknowledge women’s contributions, which so often go unrecognised.

I invite you to nominate an outstanding woman in the community to be included in the 2019 South Australian Women’s Honour Roll.

Twenty women who have made an exceptional contribution will be included in the 2019 South Australian Women’s Honour Roll publication.

All women nominated will be included on the ongoing list of nominees on the Office for Women website.

Michelle Lensink MLC
Minister for Human Services
